VERA CRUZ embrace the fine art of serious ass kicking with their debut album “Skinandteethandnails”. Balancing confidently on the edge of melodic Hardcore boosted by Rock ‘n’ Roll influences and Metalcore, the French display an astonishing mastery for such a young band. Founding it in Paris in 2009, the members were leaving their old outfits based in a range of styles from Punk Rock to Metal behind to seek a new challenge. Eager to get on the road, they decided to give away their first four-track EP “Surviving Farrah Fawcett” (2010) and started touring in France, following immediately with three weeks in the USA. There VERA CRUZ shot a video clip for “The Game” with legendary director Ian McFarland (MESHUGGAH, FEAR FACTORY, AS I LAY DYING). Back on European soil, extensive touring ensued with fifty shows alongside such renowned acts such as TERROR, EVERY TIME I DIE, ALL SHALL PERISH, CANCER BATS, D.R.I and UNEARTH. Fuelled by the fast growing live experience, new songs took shape that VERA CRUZ finally recorded during summer 2011 with producer Fred Duquesne (WATCHA). “Skinandteethandnails” manages to fully capture the explosive energy and heart wrenching brutal emotionality that the French unleash during their maniacal stage performances.
