Though her new album was inspired by the dark and heavy winters of her homeland, Eivør is hot on the heels of the most successful North American tour in her long, celebrated career. Last month, the Faroese superstar sold out half of the dates on her headlining tour of North America in support of ENN with fellow Nordic luminary and Season of Mist labelmate Sylvaine.

She’s serenaded crowds from the UEFA Champions League to The Game Awards, but on her latest album, Eivør reached several new milestones. The Faroe Islands superstar performed songs off ENN to sold-out crowds from Red Rocks to Hellfest.

On her new album, Eivør leans heavier into electronic beats and cosmic orchestration. But ENN only deepens the connection to her Nordic roots. The title, which in English means “Still”, grounds her latest artistic leap in the comforts of home. With “UPP ÚR ØSKUNI / RISE FROM THE ASHES”, Eivør pays a loving tribute to all the strong women in her life while exploring the dark new depths of her music.

Fans around the world recognize Eivør for her thunderous Nordic drumming and operatic throat singing. But her upcoming twelfth album marks a bold new venture in her two decades-long musical journey.

Eivør comes from one of the smallest places on the planet. She grew up in a village of 400 people, tucked away among the Faroe Islands. But her music, which is shaped by the natural wonders of her homeland, has brought her all over the world. She’s performed at Europe’s biggest festivals and co-composed the soundtracks to Netflix’s hit series The Last Kingdom and the award-winning video game God of War: Ragnarök.

2023 was a big year for EIVØR. Born and raised to a tiny island community, the electrifying Faroese singer-songwriter toured behind the soundtrack to the Netflix series The Last Kingdom, which she composed alongside Emmy winner John Lunn. But this year is going to be even bigger. Not only is she releasing a new album. She’s touring all across Europe — and she’s bringing along her new label mate.
