Death metal/sludge powerhouse BASTARD FEAST (Taylor Robinson- guitar, Joshua Green- vocals, Nickolis Parks- drums, Justin Yaquinto- guitar, and Jesse Aspy- bass) are offering the track “A Howling Wind” from their first full-length, ‘Fear in a Handful of Dust’, as a free download at the band’s official Bandcamp page.
Portland, Oregon based BASTARD FEAST (formerly known as ELITIST at the time) released ‘Fear in a Handful of Dust’ in June 2011 on Season of Mist. Regarding the album, BASTARD FEAST said: “This is for those of us who observe and recognize the evidence of evil in faith, hypocrisy of government and the poisons of herd mentality. We’ll scream our message of discontent from bloody throats and open wounds.”
Fusing an unhealthy dose of death metal with the heavier elements of Doom, a dissonant take on hardcore, and the visceral aspects of black metal, BASTARD FEAST have continually followed their DIY ethos. The band has been seen touring the United States relentlessly both on their own, and with such notable bands as: GAZA, ROTTEN SOUND, BLACK BREATH, LANDMINE MARATHON, THE ACCUSED, and more.
