CARACH ANGREN comment: “The long wait is finally over. We proudly present our fourth full-length musical horror story telling the utterly dark tale of two desperate children on a terrible quest to escape total darkness. As music and lyrics take you from chapter to chapter you will learn about the inevitable outcome… This Is No Fairytale!”
CARACH ANGREN have previously unveiled the first two clues to their pitch black story told on ‘This Is No Fairytale’ in the shape of lyric videos created by Costin Chioreanu for the tracks “There’s No Place Like Home” and “Killed and Served by the Devil”, which can be viewed here and there.
The band commented: “We are very proud to present to you these beautiful pieces of horror visualizing our songs ‘There’s No Place Like Home’ and ‘Killed and Served by the Devil’. For these videos we have worked together with the extremely talented Costin Chioreanu. He was able to visually reproduce the terrifying atmosphere that we aimed for. We hope you will enjoy watching them… And remember… This Nightmare Was No Dream!”
The artist added about “Killed and Served by the Devil”: “This is the second piece of a puzzle”, relates Costin Chioreanu. “It is a multimedia combination, which joins the band’s particular way of writing music and poetry related to horror with my out of standards kind of animation. Lyric video or not, the result is exploring some new dimensions of the horror genre, having as well a smooth flavour of a b-side movie and some 70’s magic. Accessing the subconscious might work better with less explicit visuals and animations, as there lies the real playground for horror, the source of all darkness…”
‘This Is No Fairytale’ was recorded by Patrick Damiani and CARACH ANGREN in June 2014. The album was mixed by Peter Tägtgren and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren and the release has been scheduled to the 23rd of February (2/24 in North America). ‘This Is No Fairytale’ can be pre-ordered in various formats from the Season of Mist shop.
