They’ve never been afraid of breaking boundaries, but with their new album, Oceans of Slumber have taken their vision for progressive metal to dark, cinematic new heights.
“It feels like there’s nothing Oceans of Slumber couldn’t do if they tried”, Bandcamp wrote upon naming Where Gods Fear to Speak one of September’s best metal albums.
Today, Season of Mist is proud to announce that Oceans of Slumber have topped the NACC Heavy Chart. Where Gods Fear to Speak now sits at #1 for the week ending on October 8th. This chart reflects weekly airplay reports from over 200 North American college and community radio stations.
The Houston heavies are joined on the chart by their Canadian labelmates Anciients, who came in at #4 with their heavy, heady and heartfelt new album Beyond the Reach of the Sun.
“We are thrilled to be making the rounds on these college campuses”, Oceans of Slumber says. “Big thank you to the stations for spinning our new album”.

To celebrate Where Gods Fear to Speak, Oceans of Slumber are playing an album release show for their hometown fans. They’ll be joined at Houston’s Scout Bar by their friends in Anova Skyway, Dyer Infernum and Metropolis Burning.
“Crowds really took to the new songs when we were on tour earlier this year with New Years Day and Lacuna Coil”, Dobber says. “We’re excited to play more songs off the album for the very first time during what’ll be our final show of the year”.
