BARISHI – New Signing – June 26, 2015
Posted on June 26, 2015
Season of Mist is thrilled to announce the signing of BARISHI. The unconventional American metal extremists offer a fascinating addition to the label’s roster.
BARISHI comment on the signing: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Season of Mist. They have put out some of our favorite records and have an undeniably awesome aesthetic. To be included on a roster of so many music legends is truly humbling. We are currently nearing completion of writing our second full-length record and are very excited to start work in the studio. It’s going to be awesome to eventually deliver it to everybody through such a great record label. Thanks to all the people at Season of Mist along with our fans and friends for getting us here.”
BARISHI were formed by guitarist Graham Brooks, bassist Jon Kelley, and drummer Dylan Blake in Southern Vermont in the spring of 2010. The Americans at first performed as an instrumental trio throughout the east coast of the United States, which they relentlessly toured. Their unique style of gritty progressive metal was completed with the addition of vocalist Sascha Simms in 2012. This line-up recorded and released a self-titled and critically acclaimed debut album in 2013. ‘Barishi’ was followed by a US tour in support of guitarist Felix Martin.
BARISHI provide the listener with earth-shattering grooves and savage vocals. Prepare to be pummeled and thunderstruck with ecstatic metal from the ancient hills of New England!
Press quote about BARISHI:
“If you like things progressive and unconventional, if you have a preference for artists who are willfully difficult and who gleefully — even shamelessly — revel in their own contradictions and imperfections, if you prefer the risk of the experimental to the assured safety of the familiar, then this is one album that’s definitely for you. Magic, in a word.” Andy Synn – No Clean Singing
